Institution for the Protection of Orphans
The Institution for the Protection of Orphans was founded by the Madrid Bar Association in 1931 during the mandate of the Dean Mr Ángel Ossorio y Gallardo, aiming to assist the sons and daughters of the lawyers belonging to the Institution in the event of the loss of the head of the household.
This solidarity assistance also includes the orphans of the lawyers registered with the Association of Alcalá de Henares and the attorneys belonging to the Association of Attorneys of Madrid who were also members of the Institution for the Protection of Orphans.
Created with a criterion of distribution and a tuitive spirit, its social work is carried out with the effort and contribution of the lawyers and attorneys adscribed; the contributions of the Bar Associations of Madrid, Alcalá de Henares and Association of Attorneys of the Community of Madrid; private donations; and the contributions of its partners.
Currently, annual grants of EUR 2,520 are awarded for each orphaned beneficiary until they reach the age of 23.
The annual contribution per enrolled child is € 55.
To attain even greater achievements it is necessary to have the support of new associates and partners, which will help to guarantee the survival of the institution to help orphans in the face of misfortune and lack of protection
The Institution for the Protection of Orphans is promoting these additions in order to raise the level of protection and increase the number of its beneficiaries.
