The Association, in line with the new postulates of the competition authorities, reminds members that there is complete freedom in setting attorney’s fees, so it strongly recommends the signing of a professional assignment sheet between attorney and client in order to determine by mutual agreement and beyond any doubt, the scope of the service contracted, the form and amount of remuneration.

Criteria

The Governing Board, in a meeting held on 4 July 2013, approved, with effect from the following day, the new compilation of criteria of the Madrid Bar Association in the issuance of its opinions on professional fees upon request and which replaces those previously applied and with the same scope and purpose. Questions or clarifications on this matter may be addressed to the members at the following e-mail address: honorarios@icam.es.

To access the Members’ Reserved Area you need to have your personal username and password or enter your FNMT-RCM electronic signature certificate or electronic DNI card.

How to obtain the username and password to access the Reserved Area?

By telephone (91 788 93 80, option 0): A letter with your access details will be sent by post to your correspondence address.

At the Association Registry: you will receive the letter with your access data in hand. If you forget your password to access the Reserved Area, you can also enter with your electronic signature and register a new password online, thus avoiding having to request it by phone from the Association and wait for it to be received by post. To do this, you must click on the “Change Password” option on the left edge of the Reserved Area main menu.

database

Resolutions Database

The Association’s database allows both judicial and associative resolutions to be linked, depending on the procedure in question. It also includes court decisions on challenges to costs linked to their opinions in cases where the decision does not confirm ours or where, because of the special characteristics of the proceedings, it is of interest to know the reasoning behind the court decision.

If you know of any resolution of interest, you can send it to us so that we can incorporate it into the Database at the following e-mail address: honorarios@icam.es.
